Joyce Kakkis, M.D. is the founder and medical director of WomanKind/Kakkis Medical Group in Long Beach. In conjunction with National Women's Health Month in May 2001, Dr. Kakkis will launch her groundbreaking book, "Confessions of An Estrogen Evangelist." This book is meant to empower women by educating them and clarifying the many myths associated with women's health issues -- particularly the use of estrogen.

Dr. Kakkis has extensive experience as a speaker on a number of women's health issues. Because of what we know about the topic has been examined by men, many misconceptions have been promoted to the public. Ignorance about women's health issues has led some to abandon their careers, experience clinical depression, suffer in their relationships and ultimately, live less satisfying lives.
